“May you see the reflection of your life’s kindness and beauty in all the tears that fall for you”

End of life

As a soul midwife, I’m an end-of-life coach, sometimes called a death doula, offering holistic and spiritual care to the dying. This support is designed to sit alongside medical care and help make the dying process more peaceful, comfortable and sacred.

I can support you all the way through your journey, beginning at any point, whether that’s at the time of diagnosis, with many years left to live, or close to the end of life. I can also be there afterwards to help your family with the funeral.

You don’t need any beliefs to benefit. The support I offer is non-denominational and non-religious. In fact, I think it can be of particular value if you don’t have any specific spiritual beliefs as it provides a space often missing in modern secular society.

Holistic and spiritual end-of-life care can take different forms. I’ll be guided by your needs and wishes, and I will always tailor the care to you. But typically, it might involve:

  • helping you write a death plan, with ideas about where you ideally want to die and who you wish to have around you

  • putting together a memory box of items to leave for your loved ones, helping them with the transition

  • working with sacred oils to create a calming atmosphere

  • soothing touch, a very gentle and comforting form of physical contact

  • creating simple, supportive rituals

  • using guided meditation journeys to bring a sense of peace

  • supporting your loved ones

  • advocating for your wishes with medical staff

I also teach skills to help others support the dying. Whether you’re caring for a family member or work with people at end of life, these are simple, gentle practices anyone can learn. They will give you more confidence to care for a dying person.
